Back for a beat

Hey ya’ll!
Thanks for all the feedback on my hair… I ended up doing a few more layers and adding caramel highlights in them. I’ll probably keep going continuously lighter over the next few months.

And all of my hair nonsense had me thinking that I see my hairdresser sometimes more often than my friends. I go every 6-8 weeks, and although I try to see my pals at least monthly, there’ve been a few times where multiple months have gone without seeing each other. Plus my midwest girlfriends, I mean, that’s a twice yearly visit…
Man, adult friendships are HARD aren’t they!
Anyway, I’ve been a little lackluster on this ol’ blog space of mine. And it’s not that I don’t want to write. I just don’t ever seem to get it together to actually write. I think of a million things a day that could be blog fodder. Meh… it’s just a season of losing steam I think.
Plus it actually takes me a LONG time to put together a semi-decent post. I’m pretty technologically challenged so the photo uploading and HTML blah blah blah takes forever. And as much as I’d love to write more, my time is better spent LIVING, ya know?
On top of that, I’ve not been good at taking pictures either. Womp Womp.
So over the past few weeks, let’s see what’s been going on..
We had a post Christmas party a couple weeks ago with some DELISH gingerbread martini’s, a houseful of desserts and some hilarious games. Awkward Family and Quelf. I was almost crying from laughing so hard.
An action shot for ya
And the gingerbread martini’s, courtesy of my bartender. We went to Outback Steakhouse a couple weeks ago and that’s when I discovered the beauty of that martini. Ahhh bliss. And the little gingerbread cookie garnish just takes it to another level.

In the meantime, I’ve just been adjusting to a different work schedule. This M-F biz is no joke! So far what I’ve noticed is my workouts have decreased. I really need to workout in the mornings, but I have a hard time waking up any earlier, and when I get home I’m exhausted and don’t to move. It’s been a conundrum. The other thing the Hus and I have been adjusting to is coming home at the same time. We’re both tired, hungry and have needs we want met. So… who’s needs actually get met then? Please, do tell! Our meal planning has improved and that’s been helping since dinner is already planned. At least the immediate “food” need is met. Although, I’ve never had a problem meeting that need for myself.
Aside from work life, I’ve still been managing to have some fun time with girlfriends.

So that’s my life these days. Not too much to write home about, hence the lack of blogging. I’ll hopefully get back to our semi-regular scheduled program soon.

Love, love, LOVE your hair!
Love the hair! And that martini looks yummy! We went to dinner the other night and they had a “Salted Caramel Cocoa Martini” . Wow! I thought I had died.
