I’m Katie.
This blog initially started out to update all my family and friends in the far away Midwest Frozen Tundra, (also known as Michigan or Wolverine territory) while I sunbathe on the sunny west coast. It has since turned into less of an update, but more of the random 52798 thoughts that run through my head every day. Lucky for you, not all of those thoughts make it to the page. Only the ones that I’m quick enough to jot down.
I have 3 goals: To serve God, and my country, and to live by the girl scouts law… wait, scratch that. I’m way past girl scouts. Let me rephrase: I have 3 goals – To serve God. To love my husband. To make sure all those I love know it. To learn to be selfless. To educate and encourage people to live their fullest, healthiest, happiest life. To bring a smile to the faces I meet. To be…. ok maybe that’s more than 3, and maybe I’ll finish letting you know my goals once all 4876 are out of my head and jotted down.
I write about the things I do and that I pretend to be good at… mostly that’s marriage, not that I’m particularly good at it, but it’s the thing I do most often. Haven’t had a day off since May, 2009 (talk about a demanding job!). I’m very happily married to the SCB (Super Chocolate Bear, please see the reference from Scrubs). We’re navigating the waters of moving from newlyweds to oldie-weds. It’s the best ride I’ve ever been on, and I’m on it with my best friend… what could be better?
Other things that tickle me pink are health, fitness, women’s health and most things medical.
You know how on most blogs there are disclaimers saying, “I’m not a doctor or a nurse so don’t listen to what I say?” Well I AM a nurse. So listen to what I say. Bring me chocolate stat. I’ve got 3 more months of grad school to be a Nurse Practitioner and then the future is wide open. If ya’ll have any job offers for me, please inquire within. My resume includes trashy reality tv marathons, attempting to find my way in the kitchen, loving on the big brown bear I share a bed with.
